Welcome to the "JOHN ROBERTS" subsection of The Pumamouse Website.
Who is John Roberts?  He is a gentleman who knows more about the workings of radio than most people are ever likely to learn.  He began his radio career in England, with the BBC.  Subsequently, he was the Joint Managing Director at the MVN (Manley Van Niekerk) production studio in Salisbury, Rhodesia.  He also produced extremely memorable Castle Playhouse dramas which aired on Springbok Radio in South Africa.

I have recently had the pleasure of corresponding and conversing with John Roberts, and I am delighted to be able to share, with his knowledge and consent, some of his personal memories and photographs for everyone to enjoy.

Please click on the JOHN ROBERTS LINKS, located directly below this introduction, to access all of the essays and photos and commentary which John Roberts has kindly provided for inclusion at The Pumamouse Website.  All of his shared treasures are included here, in the RBC subsection, for your easy reference.  However, when possible, I have grouped the RBC related material separately from the Springbok Radio related material within this subsection.  (The "Memories" essay includes references to both the RBC and Springbok Radio.)  All of it is fascinating to me, and I hope you will agree.  But, before you begin browsing, please join me in a resounding SQUEAK of Joy that these rare glimpses of the past have been preserved.

THANK YOU, JOHN!!!
