Welcome to the "A Few Words About My Sherlockian Saga"
webpage of The Pumamouse Website.
This webpage is intended to serve simply as a place where I shall attempt to answer any questions that you might have about my original Sherlockian saga.  Please be advised that I use the term “saga” in its definitive sense.  This is not merely a collection of short stories, but a series of full-length, fictitious, copyrighted novels, in which the first manuscript is entitled:

The Personal Journal Of John H. Watson, M.D.
Volume One
A Record Of The Events Which Occurred
March - May 1897

I hope that you will take the time to sample my efforts.  I would enjoy hearing your honest opinion of my work, and I will respond to any direct inquires or comments to the best of my ability.  To begin, there are a few generalized questions which I surmise might be the first to form in any interested mind, and so, please allow me to pose and answer them for you here.

As a potential reader, you might very well be wondering:
How many volumes comprise this series?
The answer is:
Fifteen completed, and several more in progress.

As a literary critic, you might ponder:
What formal education or universally recognized awards or other impressive credentials do you possess which would permit you to attempt such a feat of authorship?
The answer is:
Absolutely none.

As a Sherlockian scholar, you might rightly scold:
How dare you take such extreme liberties with these well-established, much-loved characters?
The answer is:
This is my personal artistic interpretation of purely fictitious characters...including many which are of my original creation.  If my writing offends you in any way, please do not read it.

As a curious analyst, you might inquire:
What was your initial inspiration to begin this undertaking?
The answer is, in three parts and to varying degrees:
1. The original Canon.
2. The late actor, Jeremy Brett.
3. The private instruction of the most logically thinking man
whom I have ever known, whose name I shall not disclose here.

As a historian, you might question:
For how long have you devoted your time and mental energies
to this purpose?

The answer is:
Volume One was first conceived in its entirety in 1987 and fully borne onto paper in 1993, by which time, several subsequent volumes had already been fully composed within my mind.  It was getting very crowded in there, which is why I began penning my tales onto paper.

As a true skeptic, you might quickly challenge:
“Penning”...don’t you mean “typing”?
The answer is:
I meant precisely what I wrote.  The first draft of any of my manuscripts is always composed and handwritten with ink onto paper.  Despite popular belief, this ancient method of manually inscribing text does still exist.

As an intrigued party, you might then ask:
What is your main reason for continuing so long in your efforts?
The answer is, in three parts and to varying degrees:
1. The original Canon.
2. The late actor, Jeremy Brett.
3. The private instruction of the most logically thinking man
whom I have ever known, whose name I shall not disclose here.

As a business-minded individual, you might venture:
Have you ever considered publishing your work by conventional means...in other words, submitting it to profit-conscious editors in the hope that one might agree to hack it into pieces and market the condensed remains to the unwitting masses?
The answer is:
Not for many years, and then, only for a few days, until the fever passed and I came to my senses.

As someone who has never composed an original or creative paragraph, armed with this new information, you might boldly speculate:
If not for monetary gain, what is your reason for continuing in your efforts?
The answer is:
I am compelled by the characters...those which I have borrowed, and those which I have created...all of whom demand to have a voice, even if their exploits are never read by any audience larger than myself.

As a glutton for punishment, you might prompt:
Will every word of this saga eventually be posted here at The Pumamouse Website for the possible entertainment of readers?
The answer is:
No.  Given the sometimes mature nature of my plots, and my inclination as an author to explore every recess of my unbridled imagination, (the combination of which two elements occasionally becomes a volatile mixture), I do not intend to include all of my Sherlockian saga manuscripts at The Pumamouse Website.  Aside from the mature plots, when writing this saga, I sometimes use a very descriptive style which is Sherlockian erotica, (or what I like term as “Sherlotica”), a form of creative expression which is not suitable for all readers.  Thus, some of my Sherlockian saga will never be included at this website.

It is my genuine hope that my answers to these self-imposed questions will promote your interest enough to warrant your further investigation by reading a sample of my manuscripts.  You may do so by clicking on any of the "Stories And Sagas" links below.  Logically, it is recommended that you begin your journey at the very beginning of my Sherlockian saga by clicking on the link for “My Sherlockian Saga Volume One Chapter One”.  However, you may choose any path you wish to travel towards discovery.

As always, I welcome your comments.
Thank you for your consideration.
