NEW VINTAGE RADIO PRODUCTION: “THE FOREIGNER”

It is with great pleasure that we announce the broadcast date of this our latest production to our devoted listeners. On 26 January 2004, the talents of veteran Springbok Radio producer, Henry Diffenthal was called upon to produce “The Foreigner”, a play written by a young talented new comer to the writing scene, Justin Shaw.

The story concerns around Edward Gitam (played by Roger Service) who after driving his car over the bridge, drowns and subsequently dies. He is however brought back to life by paramedics after a few minutes and rushed to hospital where he falls into a coma for a week. After waking up, he is released to carry on with his normal life, but finds that things will never be the same again. He starts having episodes where everyone in the world, it seems disappears and he is left completely alone before being violently shoved back to reality. What will the outcome be for Edward Gitam. Listen to Vintage Radio on Radio Today 1485 AM on 19 February 2004 at 7pm and all will be revealed.

The play stars, Roger Service as Edward Gitam, Frank Graham as Dr Andre, Vera Clare as Mrs Hill, Cathryn Dunstan as Mrs Swanson, veteran radio actress Merle Wayne as Mrs O’Neil, Tommy Reed as Ricky and Caroline Smart as Dr Nadine Rush.

This will be the first of two new productions to feature on Vintage Radio in February, the other play “Room 13” by Dorothy Carter can be heard on 26 February at 7pm.
