| Welcome to the "SOUTH AFRICAN TELEVISION SOUND FILES" webpage of The Pumamouse Website. By clicking on the links below, you will be able to download and hear a variety of snippets from the early days of South African Television. Many of these sounds are extremely rare. All of these sounds have been preserved and provided here for your listening pleasure by Frans Erasmus and Kevan Mardon. Some of these sounds are familiar to The Pumamouse's ears, but many are new. I shall enjoy learning about them from Frans and Kevan, and from any website visitors who remember the programs and wish to kindly assist in educating me! Please note that the year provided for each series is the year during which the series was first aired in South Africa, not the series production year. The sound files are in .mp3 format. To enjoy them, you must have an .mp3 Player program installed on your computer, such as Windows Media Player or WinAmp. The actual play time of these sound files vary, the longest being approximately three minutes. Depending upon the speed of your Internet connection, it might take several seconds or several minutes to download each of these files. However, if you enjoy nostalgia, it is well worth the wait. Enjoy! The Pumamouse (MaryAnne) September 2003 |

| SQUEAK: DON'T JUST HEAR IT ONCE... PLEASE SAVE IT FIRST! As always, it is strongly recommended that you download and save any sound files which you wish to keep indefinitely. To do so, simply right-click on any sound file link. A menu should appear. Select "Save As Target". A new window should open, allowing you to choose the destination at which to save the sound file that you are attempting to download. I recommend that you save the sound file to your desktop, so that you will be able to see and access it easily as soon as the download process is successfully completed. You should be able to listen to any sound file that is downloaded and saved on your computer's hard drive in this way as many times as you wish, even when you are not connected to the Internet. |
