The Pumamouse Website
Welcome to my little piece of the Internet. My name is The Pumamouse.
Exactly what is a Pumamouse? It is impossible to provide a concise answer to that query, and a full explanation would probably overload the world wide web. Rather than use my tiny sliver of cyberspace towards the purpose of definition, it will suffice to note that I am The Pumamouse, and this is the “HOMEPAGE” of The Pumamouse Website. I have designed this HOMEPAGE as a simple introduction. From here, you may choose your own avenue of investigation and discovery, if you are so inclined. Before you begin your journey, you might wish to bookmark this HOMEPAGE for easy future reference. My primary purpose for creating this website is to share a few of my widely varied hobbies and interests with the world. The links listed upon this HOMEPAGE will allow you to visit additional groups of webpages, (also referred to as sections and subsections), which comprise The Pumamouse Website. Through your travels, you are likely to learn a good deal about me without suffering the mundane chore of reading an “About Me” or “Personal” autobiography webpage. More importantly, you might enjoy learning something new about an old hobby, or you might discover a new interest for yourself. You might even be entertained... For example, the “STORIES AND SAGAS” section link will take you to a group of webpages where I have included samples of my original manuscripts for anyone who may be interested in reading them. What you will read there is my work of many years, refined and perfected to the best of my ability. A small selection of my original musical compositions is also available for your consideration, and may be accessed through the “MOUSICAL COMPOSITIONS” section link. I appreciate your interest, and I welcome your candid opinion of my efforts. (Please note that all of my original works are copyrighted, and may not be duplicated in any form or otherwise used without express written permission.) Squeaking...I mean, speaking of entertainment, the "NOSTALGIC OLD-TIME RADIO" section link will take you to a group of webpages devoted to my discovery of this wonderful form of vintage audio entertainment, and my subsequent obsession with collecting every genre of Old-Time Radio recordings, (commonly abbreviated "OTR"). The “TEA AND COMFORT” section link will allow you to view a group of webpages devoted to good, old-fashioned “coffee-klatsching”, as it used to be known in the bygone days before email and instant messaging were invented. There, I will share assorted needlework patterns, my favorite recipes, generalized answers to any related inquiries, personal observations, and, occasionally, perhaps my unsolicited opinions and advice. After all, what would tea and comfort be without a bit of unsolicited opinions and advice? Ask your mother or your grandmother, if you dare. For those who may be interested, the “PUMAMOUSE OBSERVATIONS” section link will take you to a group of webpages mainly created to provide commentary from The Pumamouse's personal perspective. The section is a sort of “catch-all” which includes useful tips and answers to frequently asked questions. The “MEAT AND CHEESE” section link will take you to a group of webpages devoted to some of my other interests. The “MEAT AND CHEESE” section is currently under construction, and the information provided there is intended mainly as further inspiration for friendly conversation. The “LAND OF THE FREE” section link will take you to a group of webpages designed to feature my proud American Pumamouse perspective of the USA. Admittedly, this section will never do justice to the beauty and wonders of the USA. I will not even attempt such an impossible feat! However, in time, I hope it might grow to provide a small personal glimpse of my country to the world. (The section includes my tribute to all American Veterans, and particularly to American Veterans of WWII.) The “SOUTH AFRICAN OLD-TIME RADIO” section link will take you to a group of webpages which have been devoted to my interest in the preservation of South African Old-Time Radio (OTR) programs. There, you will be able to view a list of the rare South African recordings which have been located and archived, and you will find descriptive information about this unique category of OTR. You will also be able to view related photos, hear sound files, and read essays pertaining to this topic, as provided by myself and highly knowledgeable South African OTR enthusiast, Frans Erasmus, and also by a variety of South African radio personalities and website guests. The South African OTR section is presently the largest section of The Pumamouse Website. The “SOUTH AFRICAN TELEVISION” section will in time afford an equally nostalgic journey through the early days of South African television. The “SA BROADCASTING AND “THE BACK ROOM BOYS”” section relates to both the “SOUTH AFRICAN OLD-TIME RADIO” and the “SOUTH AFRICAN TELEVISION” sections. It is intended to provide essays, photos, and sounds regarding the history of South African broadcasting, and a glimpse of the subject from the unique perspective of the men and women who worked behind the scenes. The “Z.B. MAN” UPDATES FOR THIS MONTH” section link will take you to a very helpful webpage which includes a complete list of what has been added or improved for the current month. A listing of all updates for previous months, and a listing of all updates for previous years, are also available and accessible within the section for your consideration. For those who wish to look before they leap, the “HELP! HELP! I'M LOST! SITEMAP” section link will take you to a color-coded map, designed to allow you to view the layout of the entire website. And, for those who wish to leap as soon as they look, the SITEMAP has been designed with active links, enabling you to go directly to your chosen destination, wherever that might be. A simple format version of the SITEMAP and the complete chronological history of The Pumamouse Website are also available and accessible from main “HELP! HELP! I'M LOST! SITEMAP”. Once you have browsed through all of the subsections and webpages related to a specific interest, or at any time during your journey, you can return to this HOMEPAGE by clicking on “THE PUMAMOUSE WEBSITE HOMEPAGE” link, which is conveniently located at the bottom of every webpage. In this way, you will always be able to find your way back here, to the beginning introduction HOMEPAGE of The Pumamouse Website. From here, you can choose a new interest to explore, or reinvestigate one which you have already viewed. However, you need not return to this HOMEPAGE to choose another interest to explore or to return to a previously viewed section. The SECTION LINKS are provided on nearly every webpage throughout The Pumamouse Website, so that, if you wish, you may jump directly from one section to another. And, as I have already mentioned, by using the SITEMAP, you can actually jump directly to and from any given webpage. With so many diversified sections, subsections, and webpages from which to choose, I strongly encourage you to view the “Z.B. MAN" UPDATES FOR THIS MONTH” section each and every time you visit The Pumamouse Website for an overall view of what is new here. The main updates occur on the first of every month, but changes and improvements will be made to this website throughout the month as necessary to ensure that all of the material provided is always current and accurate. If you wish to know more about me, or more about anything that you see or hear at this website, I invite you to ask. If you have any comments or any suggestions, I encourage you to share them. You can contact me regarding any hobby or interest, including general inquiries, comments, and suggestions, or to report any technical problems by clicking on the email link for The Pumamouse (MaryAnne) located at the bottom of most every webpage. Thank you for visiting The Pumamouse Website. Please return often to see and hear new developments. The Pumamouse (MaryAnne) Copyright 2002/2003/2004/2005/2006/2007
